Pentax Carrying Strap Hand O-ST162 | Keep your camera close at hand

Carrying a camera can get awkward when you’re moving around and don’t want to keep setting it down. The Pentax Carrying Strap Hand O-ST162 is a camera strap intended for carrying a camera by hand. It gives you a simple way to keep the camera with you as you move between places, rather than treating it as something to put away after each picture. That makes it relevant for photographers who prefer to carry their camera in their hand while walking around, browsing a market or moving between rooms. Its purpose is straightforward: a hand-carrying strap, rather than a shoulder strap. There are no extra features to weigh up here; the appeal is in that specific style of carrying. If that’s how you like to keep your camera nearby, this Pentax strap is a focused accessory to consider.

Specialist Note

At a busy market, I’d use the O-ST162 to keep my camera in hand as I move between stalls, instead of repeatedly putting it away. The “Hand” in the name is the useful clue: this is aimed at hand-carrying, so it suits someone who wants the camera close while walking around. “Carrying Strap” is equally clear about its job; it’s for carrying, not a camera feature or a shooting control. I’d also consider it for moving between rooms at home with a camera in hand. It’s a specific carrying style, so it won’t suit someone who wants a shoulder strap.
