SmallRig 4797B L-Shape Mount Plate w/ Silicone Handle For Sony Alpha 7C II / 7CR
SmallRig 4797B L-Shape Mount Plate w/ Silicone Handle For Sony Alpha 7C II / 7CR | More support for handheld video
During a handheld video take, a little extra support can make it easier to stay focused on framing and delivery. The SmallRig 4797B is a shoulder rig with an L-shaped mount plate and silicone handle, made for use with the Sony Alpha 7C II and 7CR. It suits owners of these cameras who shoot handheld and want a dedicated handle to hold while working. For a seated interview, a presenter piece or a short handheld scene, it gives you another way to support the camera instead of relying only on your hold of the camera body. Its purpose is specific: extra support for handheld video work. Use it when you want to keep the camera in hand during a take; for a fixed, locked-off shot, a tripod is the more suitable kind of support.
Specialist Note
If supporting the camera through a take is taking your attention away from the shot, this rig gives you a dedicated handle to work with. The silicone handle is the contact point you can grip, while the L-shaped plate forms the camera-side part of the setup. For a seated interview or a short presenter clip with your Sony Alpha 7C II or 7CR, hold the handle and keep your movements measured; that’s the kind of handheld work this rig is intended to support. It’s a focused accessory, not a substitute for a tripod when you need the camera to stay fixed. I’d consider it when handheld video is a regular part of your work.
