The “MGfilt” name points to an Ilford multigrade filter, while “A/Lens” is part of the product’s specific title. It’s aimed at photographers working with an enlarger and selecting filters as part of their monochrome printing process. The clear benefit here is having the Grade 0 designation right in the product name, so you can match the filter you need to a grade-specific workflow. Keep that designation in mind when choosing it for a print setup. This is a narrowly identified darkroom item rather than a general sheet of photo paper; the title provides a format and grade, without adding other performance claims.

Specialist Note

The 30 × 30 cm format is the first detail I’d use to identify this item when sorting darkroom materials: it gives you a clear size to match against your own filter setup. The other key mark is GR0. I’d treat that as the grade to select when your printing plan calls for Grade 0, rather than choosing by the Ilford name alone. It suits a darkroom printer who keeps filters organised by grade, especially when setting up a monochrome print and checking the required filter before exposing paper. My honest advice is to make sure the Grade 0 label is the one you want for that print; this product’s title gives a specific grade, not a range.

Technical Specifications

Brand: Ilford

Product designation: Mgfilt A/Lens

Format: 30 × 30 cm

Grade: 0
