The Lastolite Covelite Small is a reflector screen, giving you a way to bounce light back onto a subject rather than relying only on the light already reaching it. That can help lift shadows and bring detail back into the darker side of a face or object. It suits photographers who want to adjust the look of a scene by moving reflected light, whether they’re working with a person or arranging a small subject. The name identifies it as the Small version, but the useful point is its role: a reflector screen gives you a simple, direct way to work with light. You can judge the result as you position it, then adjust until the balance looks right. It’s a straightforward tool, and its effect depends on the light and subject in front of it.

Working with reflected light

A reflector screen doesn’t create another light source; it redirects light that’s already present. Place one so it catches light from your setup, then angle the reflected light toward the shadowed area you want to lift. Small changes in position can alter where the light lands, so it’s worth looking at the subject as you move the screen rather than setting it in place and assuming the effect. If the shadows become too bright, change the angle or move the screen farther from the subject. If you want a more noticeable lift, bring it closer and assess the result. These are general ways to work with a reflector screen, not claims about a particular surface or construction. The Covelite Small gives you the reflector-screen format in a named Small version; choose it when that’s the kind of light control you’re looking for.

Technical Specifications

Product: Lastolite Covelite Small

Category: Reflector Screen
