This honeycomb grid is made for a 25cm dish and gives you a way to keep the light more focused. It suits photographers who want more direction from a small dish, especially when spill onto nearby parts of a scene is getting in the way. A grid is a simple modifier, but the effect is worth considering before you add one: it narrows where the light goes rather than changing the light source itself. That makes this a practical option when you want to shape the beam from your dish with less spill. The honest caveat is that a grid changes the spread of the light, not the character of the light source; it won’t replace a different modifier when that’s what the scene needs.

Using a honeycomb grid

Think of the grid as a way to put boundaries around the light. It’s useful when you want the dish to illuminate a more deliberate area, rather than sending light broadly across the set. That can help you keep attention on the part of the scene you’re lighting and reduce unwanted brightness nearby. The result depends on how you position the dish and what’s around it, so small adjustments to its direction can make a visible difference. If you’re choosing between modifiers, start with the problem you’re trying to solve: for controlling spread, a grid is the relevant type of accessory. For a different look or a broader wash of light, you may want another approach. This is a focused, specific tool, and its value is in that control rather than in adding another layer of light.

Technical Specifications

Product type: Honeycomb grid

Dish size: 25cm

Colour: Black
