This colourful Insta camera is aimed at children and combines photo and video capture with instant prints, including prints on sticker paper. The pink, blue and yellow colours add a playful look, while the built-in selfie lens gives children another way to frame a quick portrait. For a family day out, they can capture small moments and print a keepsake soon afterwards; at home, sticker prints can be added to a notebook or decorated with the supplied stickers. The camera also records video at 1920 × 1080 and saves photos and clips to the included 32 GB microSD card, so it has a role beyond printing. A selection of filters gives children ways to change the look of their pictures before printing. Thermal printing uses no ink cartridges, and each roll is rated for about 50 sheets. It’s a cheerful camera-and-printing setup for children who enjoy making something physical from their pictures, with the added benefit that printed images don’t need time to dry.

Highlights

Prints in about 10 seconds: Press the print button for a quick paper copy, handy when a child wants to share a picture straight away.

Thermal printing: The camera prints without ink cartridges, so there’s no printer ink to replace.

Sticker-paper option: Use sticker paper for pictures that can be placed in a scrapbook or decorated. The 2.4-inch colour IPS screen gives a child a clear place to look while framing a portrait, and the selfie lens is a welcome detail when nobody else is holding the camera. I’d use the filters to settle on a look, then print a favourite frame on the sticker paper for a notebook or card. Its 203 dpi print resolution is suited to small keepsakes rather than detailed photo enlargements, so I’d think of the prints as playful mementos. It’s a good fit for children who enjoy both taking pictures and making things with them. The thermal output is monochrome, so the colour fun comes from the camera’s filters and the supplied decorative stickers, not coloured ink.

Good to know

The camera’s 1500 mAh battery takes around 2.5 hours to charge. A roll of thermal paper is rated for approximately 50 prints, which gives a useful sense of how quickly children might get through a roll during a craft session. The supplied memory card has 32 GB capacity for storing photos and videos alongside the instant-print activity.

What's Included

1 × myFirst Camera Insta 2

2 × rolls of thermal paper

1 × roll of thermal sticker paper

1 × 32 GB microSD card

1 × microSD card adapter

2 × sheets of decorative stickers

1 × charging cable

1 × adjustable neck strap

1 × instruction manual

Technical Specifications

Brand: myFirst

Model: Camera Insta 2

Type: Instant-print camera

Colours: Pink, blue and yellow

Photo resolution: 4032 × 2880 pixels

Video resolution: 1920 × 1080 pixels

Print resolution: 203 dpi

Display: 2.4-inch colour IPS

Battery capacity: 1500 mAh

Charging time: 2.5 hours

Dimensions (W × H × D): 132 × 95 × 42.5 mm

Weight: 232 g
