Wear it while using a compatible recorder to pick up audio from a phone call, rather than relying on a separate microphone held near the phone. That makes it useful for recording an interview conducted by phone, keeping a record of a call, or capturing a conversation on a fixed-line handset. The TP-8 is also suitable for smartphone calls, so the same accessory covers mobile and landline conversations. Three pairs of interchangeable ear tips are supplied in small, medium and large sizes, giving you a choice of fit. It’s a focused accessory rather than a general-purpose headset: its job is to pick up telephone audio for use with recording equipment. Check that your recorder is an OM System model before choosing it for that purpose.

Why it is useful

Telephone pickup format: The TP-8 is made for picking up audio from phone conversations.
