This SmallRig filter kit brings ND filtering and a Black Mist effect to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, giving you ways to manage light and soften the appearance of highlights. ND filtering reduces the light reaching the camera; the Black Mist look takes some of the crisp edge off bright points and contrast. That makes the kit relevant for both daytime clips and scenes with visible lights, where the look of highlights matters. Its square format is part of the product design, and the silver finish gives it a distinctive appearance. It suits iPhone 17 Pro Max owners who want to shape the look of their footage with filters, rather than relying only on the phone’s image processing. The exact result depends on the scene and exposure you choose.

Specialist Note

For a 25 fps clip in bright daylight, I’d use the ND filtering to help manage exposure; if your recording app allows manual shutter control, 1/50 sec is a sensible starting point. The Black Mist effect has a different role: try framing a lit sign or lamp at night to give bright highlights a gentler appearance. That makes this kit a good fit for iPhone 17 Pro Max owners who want a considered look for street clips or evening video. Keep an eye on exposure as the light changes, since the amount of ND filtering affects how much light reaches the camera. I’d choose it for shaping the image, not for a completely untouched look.

Technical Specifications

Brand: SmallRig

Model: 6077

Filter type: Square ND Black Mist

Compatibility: iPhone 17 Pro Max

Colour: Silver

https://www.htf-store.com/pl/products/smallrig-6077-square-nd-black-mist-filter-kit-for-iphone-17-pro-max-silver
