The Tilta MB-T12-RA is made for the MB-T12 Matte Box, giving rig builders a specific way to bring that matte box into their setup. It suits videographers assembling a shoulder rig for handheld filming, particularly when the MB-T12 is part of the build. The 15mm LWS designation gives you a clear rod standard to work around as you plan the rig. Think of it as a mounting component, rather than a complete shoulder rig or a source of camera support on its own. Its job is focused: connect the named matte box with a 15mm LWS rod setup, so you can build the rest of your handheld rig around that arrangement.

Specialist Note

This adapter gives the MB-T12 Matte Box a place in a 15mm LWS rod-based rig. I’d recommend it to someone building a handheld video setup who specifically wants to use that matte box: the 15mm LWS standard gives you a defined rod system to plan around, while the MB-T12-RA is tailored to the MB-T12 rather than being a general-purpose support part. For a handheld filming setup, use it to bring the matte box into the rod arrangement, then build your camera support around the rig as a whole. One point to keep in mind: this is an adapter, not a complete shoulder rig, so it won’t provide camera support by itself.

Technical Specifications

Product kind: shoulder rig

Rod standard: 15mm LWS

For: Tilta MB-T12 Matte Box

Typical use: handheld video work where the camera needs extra support
