It’s a considered option for making prints where the paper’s character matters alongside the image, from finished photographs to artwork intended for display. The pack contains 25 sheets, so it can suit a modest print run or a set of images you want to produce on the same stock. A3 gives you room for a substantial print, while the stated 270GSM weight is a useful point of comparison when choosing between paper options. If you’re deciding on paper for a particular image, think about how its surface and size will work with the look you want; the name and format give you a clear starting point.

Choosing a paper for your print

Paper choice is part of the final image, not just a step after editing. A close-up photograph, a graphic illustration and a softly toned portrait can each call for a different presentation, so it helps to judge the paper against the work you plan to print. The Text Silk name gives you a specific surface direction to consider, while the FineArt designation places this paper in the fine-art category. For a print intended to be framed, you can plan the image area and any border around the finished sheet size. For a series, using one paper throughout can also help keep the presentation consistent. Those are decisions best made with your own image and display plans in mind; this pack gives you a defined paper type and a 25-sheet quantity to work with.

Technical Specifications

Brand: Ilford

Product: GP FineArt Text Silk

Paper weight: 270GSM

Paper size: A3

Dimensions: 297mm x 420mm

Quantity: 25 sheets

Category: Photo paper
