It suits landscape photographers who want to manage bright skies and keep more control over shutter speed in daylight. The ND1000 is the one to reach for when you want a slower exposure, such as smoothing moving water; the GND8 Soft is for scenes where the sky is brighter than the land and you want a gradual transition between the darker and lighter areas. The square format and holder make this a considered option for photographers who prefer working with square filters. The kit is most useful when strong light is affecting the exposure, rather than when you simply want to add colour or contrast.

Specialist Note

1000 in the ND1000 name signals a very dark neutral-density filter; in practice, that lets you slow the shutter in bright conditions without relying on a tiny aperture alone. For moving water, use it to lengthen the exposure and soften the flow. The GND8 Soft is the part I’d consider for a bright sky above a landscape: its graduated effect helps balance the frame without an abrupt line across the view. The square holder format suits photographers who want to work with this kind of filter setup. One honest caveat: a soft graduation can be less suitable when the horizon has a very sharp, clearly defined edge.

Technical Specifications

Brand: K&F Concept

Format: Square

Filter: ND1000

Filter: GND8 Soft

Category: ND filter
