This Laowa Aksen two-lens bundle gives you a 45mm lens and a 17.5mm lens, so you can choose between two distinct angles of view rather than rely on one fixed perspective. The 45mm is a standard prime with a maximum aperture of f/2.8; the 17.5mm has a maximum aperture of f/1.7. It’s a set aimed at street and travel photography, where scenes and distances vary through the day. Both focal lengths use manual focus, which suits photographers who prefer to set focus themselves and take a considered approach to framing. If you’re shopping in the Macro category, note that the supplied suitability is street and travel, so those are the uses this set is best matched to.

Choosing a view

Think about what you want in the frame before changing lenses: choose the wider perspective when the surrounding scene matters, and the standard view when you want a more selective composition. Having both focal lengths in the set gives you that choice as your subject or viewpoint changes.

Specialist Note

For a day that moves between broad street scenes and tighter travel details, this two-lens bundle beats committing to one focal length and trying to make every frame fit. The 17.5mm’s f/1.7 maximum aperture gives you more room to work in dimmer light; the 45mm’s f/2.8 maximum aperture is a straightforward fit for daylight details and street scenes. I’d use manual focus when there’s time to place focus deliberately, rather than expecting the quickest response for fleeting action. It suits a traveller who enjoys choosing a viewpoint and taking a moment over focus. For fast, unpredictable moments, that manual approach does ask for patience.

Technical Specifications

Product kind: Interchangeable lens

Focal length: 45mm; 17.5mm

Maximum aperture: f/2.8; f/1.7

Lens type: Standard Prime

Focus: Manual Focus

Genuinely suited for: Street, Travel
