It gives you a tripod accessory specifically intended for these two lenses, so it’s a straightforward option when you want to mount one of them on a tripod. That’s useful for careful compositions where you want the camera position to stay put, such as a considered landscape frame or a close, detailed still life. The collar’s role is practical: it provides a support point for the lens as part of a tripod-based setup. It doesn’t change how either lens sees a scene or how you focus; it’s there to support the setup. If you use one of the named Aksen lenses and regularly work from a tripod, this is the dedicated accessory to consider. Its appeal is that specific fit, not a broad range of unrelated uses.

Specialist Note

With the collar in your setup, the lens has its own tripod support point, which makes it easier to keep a carefully framed scene steady while you work. I’d consider it for a tripod-based still life or a landscape composition where small shifts in framing are distracting. The 17.5mm f/1.7 gives you the option of a wide maximum aperture when the light drops; the collar won’t make that exposure brighter, but it helps keep the camera settled while you compose. The 45mm f/2.8 gives a tighter view, which can suit detail work. This is a focused accessory, so it makes sense specifically for the two named Aksen lenses, not as a general collar for other lenses.

Technical Specifications

Product kind: Tripod accessory

For: Laowa Aksen 17.5mm f/1.7

For: Laowa Aksen 45mm f/2.8 (Vetringaksen)

https://www.htf-store.com/products/laowa-tripod-collar-for-aksen-17-5mm-f-1-7-45mm-f-2-8-vetringaksen
