It’s a connection piece for photographers assembling an EOS-Retro reverse-adapter setup around a lens with that filter-thread size. Use it to mount the lens to the adapter, or keep it with the lens when preparing the same threaded connection for a later setup. The ring’s job is specific: it changes the thread size at the adapter-to-lens link, rather than adding a filter effect of its own. That distinction matters when you’re sorting accessories for a reverse-mount arrangement. The body is plastic and the finish is black, so you can identify it as a separate mechanical part in your kit. If your lens has the matching thread, this is the Novoflex accessory that bridges it to the Retro adapter’s supplied thread.

Thread fit and construction

Step-ring connection: It adapts the Retro reverse adapter’s 58 mm thread to a lens with a 62 mm filter thread. That gives the two specified thread sizes a direct connection.

For a Retro reverse adapter: This is the thread adapter for that particular setup, not a filter. It provides the link between the adapter and a compatible lens.

Plastic construction: The ring is made from plastic, keeping its role focused on joining the threaded parts rather than changing the image.

Black finish: Its black colour identifies this version and keeps the accessory visually understated alongside the setup.

Filter-adapter format: The ring uses a lens’s filter-thread connection for mounting to the reverse adapter. It’s intended for a lens that has the matching thread, not as a standalone photographic filter.

Specialist Note

At the counter, a lens and a Retro reverse adapter are laid out for a threaded connection; this is where the Novoflex ring earns its place. The adapter side is 58 mm, while the lens side takes a 62 mm filter thread, so the key is matching those two points rather than choosing by the lens’s overall size. I’d point it out to someone building an EOS-Retro reverse-adapter setup around a lens with that thread. The plastic construction is a reminder that this is a mechanical link, not an optical accessory, and it won’t produce a filter effect by itself. For the intended connection, it’s a neatly specific part.

What's Included

Novoflex Filteradapter EOS-Retro 62mm

Technical Specifications

Brand: Novoflex

Model: Filteradapter EOS-Retro 62mm

Type: Step ring / filter adapter

Adapter thread: 58 mm

Lens filter thread: 62 mm

Material: Plastic

Colour: Black

Intended connection: Lens to Retro reverse adapter
