Rycote Black Undercovers are made for a more discreet approach: they’re intended to help position a microphone beneath clothing, where it’s less conspicuous on camera. They suit people recording interviews, presentations or other spoken content who want a cleaner-looking frame without a visible microphone on the garment. The appeal here is practical and focused: this is a simple accessory for concealed microphone placement, rather than a device that changes how you record or capture sound. If your priority is keeping the microphone out of sight, these undercovers are worth considering. Their black colour makes them a natural fit for darker clothing, while the pack’s stated 30 uses gives you multiple occasions to plan for.

Specialist Note

“Can I use the Black Undercovers to keep a microphone discreet under clothing?” Yes—that’s their purpose. I’d consider them for an interview or presentation where a visible microphone would distract from the person speaking; place the microphone beneath the garment with the undercovers to keep the setup less noticeable. The black colour makes sense alongside darker clothes, though it won’t visually blend with every outfit. You get 30 uses in the pack, which is handy if you record regularly or need to prepare for several separate sessions. It’s a focused accessory for concealment, not a way to improve the microphone’s sound.

Technical Specifications

Product: Rycote Black Undercovers

Colour: Black

Stated uses: 30
