The Tilta R15-150-B is an aluminum rod for shoulder-rig work, intended for situations where the camera needs extra support while you’re filming handheld. It suits videographers building a rig for longer takes or controlled movement, rather than someone looking for a standalone tripod. Its aluminum construction and black finish are the defining details: this is a metal rod in the black version, for use as part of a shoulder-rig setup. The useful distinction is its purpose. It’s aimed at supporting the camera during handheld video work, where holding the camera without a rig may not be comfortable or steady enough. If that’s the kind of filming you do, this rod is a focused rig component rather than a general-purpose camera support.

Specialist Note

The Tilta R15-150-B is for handheld video work where a shoulder rig can support the camera better than an unsupported hold. I’d consider it for handheld interview footage or event coverage, using it as part of a shoulder-rig arrangement while you keep the camera supported through the take. The aluminum construction makes this a metal rod component, not a soft support or a complete tripod solution. Its black version is a straightforward fit visually if you’re putting together a dark rig. One point to keep in mind: this is aimed at handheld work, so it isn’t the part to choose for locked-off shots; pair the setup with a separate support when you need the camera stationary.

Technical Specifications

Product type: Shoulder rig

Material: Aluminum

Version: Black

Intended use: Handheld video work where the camera needs extra support
