The Tilta TT-BT-18650-NM is for video makers who want that support during a take, rather than working with an unsupported camera. It suits planned segments as well as footage where you need to follow the action instead of holding a fixed position. The benefit is straightforward: a supported setup for handheld camera work. If you regularly move between handheld and fixed shots, this rig serves the handheld part of that workflow; a tripod can still be the better tool for a locked-off frame. It’s a focused piece of rig equipment, best judged by whether extra support during handheld video is what your filming calls for.

Specialist Note

For filmmakers covering sit-down interviews or following a presenter through a scene, this shoulder rig is worth considering when you want extra support but still need to work handheld. I’d use it for the moving portions, then choose a tripod for a locked-off interview angle; its role is to support handheld video, not replace every support setup. The “18650” in TT-BT-18650-NM is useful as part of the exact model name when you’re identifying this Tilta rig; it’s not a camera setting or a figure to read as a performance claim. My honest take: it makes most sense when handheld video is a regular part of your work, rather than an occasional sideline.

Technical Specifications

Product kind: shoulder rig

Typical use: handheld video work

Purpose: extra camera support
