Urth Lens Mount Adapter: Compatible w/ Canon FD Lens To Leica L Camera Body
Urth Lens Mount Adapter: Compatible w/ Canon FD Lens To Leica L Camera Body | Use a Canon FD lens on Leica L
The defining choice is the Canon FD-to-Leica L pairing: this Urth adapter is made for photographers who already own Canon FD lenses and want to use one on a Leica L camera body. Its purpose is specific, not universal, so the key question is simply whether your lens and camera match those two mounts. It’s best suited to someone who wants to keep an existing FD lens in their kit and build a setup around it, rather than someone shopping for an additional lens. The adapter provides the mount connection between the lens and body; the particular lens you choose remains central to how you frame and make photographs. For portraits, still lifes or other work you already make with an FD lens, this gives you a route to bring that lens to a Leica L body. If your equipment matches the named pairing, the appeal is practical: you can explore your existing lens on the camera body you use, without looking for a different lens mount adapter.
Specialist Note
Photographers who make portraits or still lifes with Canon FD lenses are the people I’d point toward this Urth adapter. It’s designed for one clear pairing: a Canon FD lens on a Leica L camera body, so you can plan your setup around the lens you already own. Think of it as a way to bring that FD lens into your Leica L kit, rather than as a general adapter for multiple systems. The useful number here is one: one matching lens-to-body pairing. I’d keep that limitation in mind when choosing it; if your lens and camera aren’t the stated mounts, this isn’t the adapter for that setup.
