Silicon Power Armor A62 HDD 1TB USB 3.2 Gen 1 (Black & Blue)

Silicon Power Armor A62 HDD 1TB USB 3.2 Gen 1 (Black & Blue) | A separate home for your files

Without a separate drive, photo folders and other files can end up sharing space with everything else on your computer. The Silicon Power Armor A62 is an external hard disk with 1TB of storage, for photographers and other users who want a dedicated place to keep files. Its USB 3.2 Gen 1 connection is part of the title; the practical point is that this is a drive to consider when you want to add external storage, rather than choose a memory card or build a larger internal archive. It’s suited to keeping photo collections, exports or working folders together, especially if you prefer having files in one separate location. The black and blue finish gives it a distinct look. A straightforward note: the title tells you the capacity and connection, but not how quickly a particular transfer will run, so I wouldn’t buy it on an assumed speed.

A simple way to organise your files

Before moving a large collection, decide how you’ll sort it: by year, project or another system you’ll remember later. A tidy folder structure makes it easier to find a particular shoot without relying on the drive’s name or appearance. And if these files matter to you, keep another copy somewhere else. An external drive can give you a separate place for files, but one copy alone isn’t a complete backup plan. This is a sensible kind of storage to consider when you want to keep an archive apart from your day-to-day computer files; the best fit depends on how much you need to store and how you plan to organise it.
