Rycote Cyclone Windshield Kit Medium
Rycote Cyclone Windshield Kit Medium | Wind protection for microphone recording
The Rycote Cyclone Windshield Kit Medium is a microphone windshield kit for sound recordists who need to account for wind when recording. Its Medium size designation gives you a clear starting point when choosing a windshield format for your setup. Wind reaching a microphone can interfere with speech and other recorded sounds, so adding a windshield is worth considering for outdoor dialogue, interviews or location ambience. This kit is best suited to people looking specifically for a medium-size option in the Cyclone line, rather than a one-size-fits-all solution. Its black finish keeps the look understated on a recording setup. Think about wind protection before you start recording, especially when a take would be difficult to repeat. The product name identifies the format and size; choose it with your intended microphone setup in mind.
Specialist Note
First-time buyers often leave wind protection until they hear unwanted gust noise in a recording; a windshield kit brings that consideration into the setup beforehand. The Medium size is the key detail here: use it to narrow your choice to this format, rather than assuming one size suits every microphone. For outdoor dialogue, plan the microphone position and fit appropriate wind protection before recording; for location ambience, do the same before capturing a take you may not be able to repeat. The black finish is visually understated, which can be helpful when you want the gear to draw little attention. My honest advice is to treat Medium as a size category, not a promise of universal fit.
