For outdoor framing and exposure checks in strong daylight, the Viltrox DC-A1 7-inch Super Bright Monitor puts a 2800 cd/m² touchscreen where you can see it. Its high brightness is the defining feature; the 7-inch screen also gives camera operators and filmmakers a larger view of the image than the camera’s own display. Use it to check focus while filming an interview, keep an eye on exposure during a bright exterior, or review a custom look on set. Focus peaking, zebra warnings and a waveform display provide clear tools for judging detail and exposure as you work. The touchscreen supports custom LUT import from USB, so you can preview a chosen colour look while monitoring. It also supports Log monitoring, giving you viewing options when working with Log footage. The DC-A1 accepts and passes through 4K signals at up to 60Hz over HDMI 2.0; its own display is Full HD, with a 1920 × 1080 resolution. That distinction matters: you get a smooth 4K signal path alongside a detailed, bright on-camera viewing screen. A detachable sun hood is included for shading the display outside.

Monitoring Features

• Full HD IPS touchscreen: The 1920 × 1080 panel uses IPS technology and has a 170° viewing angle. That broad view makes it easier for more than one person to check the image around the camera.
• Focus and exposure tools: Focus peaking highlights areas of sharpness, while zebras flag parts of the image at a chosen brightness. Use them to assess manual focus and exposure without relying on the screen image alone.
• Waveform and image inspection: The waveform gives you a view of tonal levels, and pinch-to-zoom lets you inspect detail in a selected part of the frame. The monitor also offers anamorphic de-squeeze preview.
• 4K60 HDMI signal path: HDMI 2.0 input and output support 4K signals up to 60Hz. This keeps the signal path suitable for compatible high-resolution camera feeds, even though the monitor panel displays Full HD.
• Active temperature-controlled cooling: A built-in fan adjusts its speed in response to the monitor’s temperature. It’s designed for stable operation over long working sessions.
• Quick-release sun hood: The detachable hood shades the display from bright light and folds closed for storage. Closed, it also covers the screen to help guard against scratches.

The monitor can run from an NP-F550, NP-F750 or NP-F970 lithium battery, or from DC power at 10–18V and 2A. USB-C power is also supported at the listed 9V, 12V, 15V or 20V and 3A levels.
