SMDV Speedbox-Flip Beauty Dish 24 (Exclusief Speedring)

SMDV Speedbox-Flip Beauty Dish 24 (Exclusief Speedring) | Shape light for portrait work

The defining choice is the beauty-dish format: a studio light modifier for photographers who want to shape light for portrait work. SMDV’s product name also includes “24”, which identifies this version without giving a unit here. It’s suited to photographers building a studio setup around deliberate portrait lighting, and its natural role is portrait sessions where the look of the light matters. If you’re choosing between modifier types, start with the kind of portraits you make and the lighting approach you want; a beauty dish is a dedicated option, rather than a general-purpose accessory. One practical point to keep in mind: the speedring is excluded. You’ll need to account for that separately when planning your setup. The title doesn’t identify a particular speedring fit, so this description makes no assumptions about one.

Choosing a beauty dish

This is a focused studio accessory for photographers who already know they want a beauty dish in their lighting kit. It makes most sense when portrait lighting is a regular part of your work, rather than when you’re simply looking for an all-purpose studio modifier. The “24” designation is useful when comparing this product with other sizes, but the product name alone doesn’t explain the unit or the resulting dimensions, so don’t read more into that number than it says. The speedring exclusion is the key purchasing detail to factor in: the dish and the ring are not presented as a single included item. That’s worth allowing for when you’re putting together your studio setup.
