SmallRig 5448 L-Shaped Mount Plate w/ Silicone Handle For Fujifilm X-E5 (Black)
SmallRig 5448 L-Shaped Mount Plate w/ Silicone Handle For Fujifilm X-E5 (Black) | More support for handheld video
The L-shaped mount plate gives this rig its defining form: it pairs a plate with a silicone handle to add a dedicated handhold for handheld video. SmallRig made it for the Fujifilm X-E5, so it’s a focused option for X-E5 owners who want extra support while filming without changing to a different camera setup. The shape gives you a place to hold the camera-and-rig combination, while the silicone handle provides the contact point for your hand. It’s best suited to controlled handheld filming, such as recording a presenter, a short interview or a simple walk-through where you want a steadier-feeling hold than the camera body alone provides. This is a shoulder rig, but its stated strength is handheld video work. It won’t remove camera movement or make handheld footage look locked off; it gives you a more supportive way to hold the camera while you work.
Specialist Note
In a quiet room, with an interview about to begin, the SmallRig 5448 has a clear job: give your Fujifilm X-E5 a dedicated handhold for the take. I like that the handle is silicone; it gives your hand a distinct contact surface when you’re keeping the camera steady through a longer answer. The L-shaped plate makes this a rig for the X-E5 rather than a general-purpose handle, so it makes sense if that’s the camera you film with. For a seated interview or a measured walk-through, hold the silicone grip and keep your movements deliberate. One limit to keep in mind: a handle helps with support, but it won’t cancel movement for you.
