The Benro Extra Korte Middenkolom ASC2 is a tripod accessory for photographers who want more room to frame close to the ground, rather than a replacement for a tripod or a general-purpose support. Think ground-level flower details, small subjects, or a landscape composition where you want the camera low without a long column extending beneath the tripod head. It’s a focused piece of kit, and its value comes from that specific change in setup. If low viewpoints are part of your work, it’s worth considering as an addition to a tripod setup. The name identifies it as an extra-short centre column; choose it for that role, not for extra height or a different kind of support.

Specialist Note

A ground-level flower fills the frame, and the camera needs to sit low without a long centre section in the way. That’s the situation where the ASC2 makes sense to me. Its extra-short length is the point: it’s intended for a lower working position, not to give you more reach above the tripod. I’d consider it for close-to-ground flower details or a low landscape viewpoint, adjusting the tripod position first and then composing from that lower height. It suits photographers who regularly work near the ground and want a centre-column accessory aimed at that task. It remains an accessory, though; it isn’t a standalone support, and its usefulness depends on having a tripod setup it fits.

Technical Specifications

Brand: Benro

Product name: Benro Extra Korte Middenkolom ASC2

Product kind: Tripod accessory

Category: Tripods > Tripod Accessory
