It suits curious film and digital photographers who enjoy working deliberately and seeing familiar subjects in a different way. Foliage and buildings are good subjects to try: look for clear shapes and tonal contrast, then adjust your exposure as you work. The filter’s appeal is in that focused creative use, not in being an everyday filter for general colour photography. It gives you a straightforward way to experiment with infrared photography without changing your lens. If you’re new to the technique, start with a simple scene and review each result before changing your framing or exposure. That makes it easier to see what the filter is contributing and decide how you want to develop the image.

Specialist Note

52mm is the filter size, so it’s made for a lens with a matching filter thread; that’s the practical detail to check when choosing this one. The IR720 name identifies its infrared purpose, so I’d consider it for someone who wants to explore that specific look rather than adjust colour in an everyday photograph. Try it on leafy scenes or architectural details: keep the composition simple, make an exposure, and review the result before refining your framing or exposure. One honest limitation is that the 52mm size won’t suit a lens with a different filter thread. For the right lens and a deliberate infrared experiment, it’s a focused tool.

Technical Specifications

Product: GREEN.L IR720 52mm Infra-Red

Filter size: 52mm

Filter type: Infra-red
