rycote-35-50-mini-windjammer-for-foam
Rycote 35/50 Mini Windjammer For Foam

Rycote 35/50 Mini Windjammer For Foam | Wind protection for foam-covered microphones

Its defining detail is its purpose: the Rycote 35/50 Mini Windjammer is made to go with a foam microphone cover, giving you an extra wind-protection option without replacing the foam. It suits people recording speech or other audio outdoors who already use a foam cover and want a windjammer designed for that setup. Think interviews, location sound or a spoken introduction recorded outside, where moving air can interfere with clear audio. The Mini format makes it a focused accessory rather than a complete microphone windscreen system. For the best result, use it as intended with foam; it isn’t a standalone solution for a microphone without that base cover. The product name includes a 35/50 sizing designation, so that’s the detail to match to your foam before choosing this windjammer. If your recording work is mainly indoors, where wind isn’t a concern, you may have less reason to add it to your kit.

Specialist Note

35/50 is the sizing designation to pay attention to in practice: use it to match this windjammer to the foam in your microphone setup. The “for foam” part matters just as much; this is an outer wind cover intended to work with foam, not a replacement for it. I’d consider it for outdoor interviews or location dialogue when you want to keep wind from becoming a distraction in the recording. Put the foam cover in place first, then use this windjammer with it. Its Mini format makes it a specific accessory for that arrangement, rather than an all-purpose answer to every wind problem. If you don’t use foam, this isn’t the version I’d steer you toward.

Technical Specifications

Product: Rycote 35/50 Mini Windjammer For Foam

Category: Accessories > microphone

Type: Mini Windjammer for foam
