This Superior background roll gives you a defined deep-purple setting for portraits, product images and other studio work where the background should contribute to the look. It’s suited to photographers who want a strong colour behind their subject rather than a neutral scene, and the 1.35m width makes it a practical size to consider for individual subjects or smaller setups. The roll is 11m long, giving you room to work across multiple sessions. Its colour reference is NR 68. Deep purple has a clear visual presence, so it won’t disappear behind a subject; that’s useful when the backdrop is part of the composition. One honest point: a saturated background asks for a little thought when you’re choosing clothing, props and lighting, so it’s less of an invisible, goes-with-everything option.

Working with a deep-purple backdrop

Think of this as a colour decision, not just a way to cover the space behind your subject. Deep purple can give a portrait a more dramatic feel, or add a distinct block of colour to a product photograph. Keep the rest of the scene simple if you want the backdrop to carry the visual weight; add contrasting colours when you want a more expressive result. Either way, take a test frame and look at how the subject reads against the background before settling into a longer shoot. That small check can help you decide whether the purple supports the image or competes with it. The effect will depend on your subject and lighting, so there’s no single setup that suits every session.

Technical Specifications

Product type: Background roll

Colour: Deep Purple

Colour reference: NR 68

Width: 1.35m

Length: 11m
