ACT 3m Mini DisplayPort Male - Male

ACT 3m Mini DisplayPort Male - Male | A direct link between Mini DisplayPort ports

Without the right cable, connecting two Mini DisplayPort sockets can mean juggling adapters or settling for a lead with the wrong plugs. The ACT 3m Mini DisplayPort Male - Male is a straightforward cable for linking two devices with matching Mini DisplayPort sockets. It has a male Mini DisplayPort connector at each end, so the connection is direct. At 3 metres, it gives you some room to position the devices apart rather than having them right beside each other. That makes it useful for a desk or a simple home setup where the cable needs to span a gap. Its appeal is plain: the connector type and length are clear. There’s no need to guess which end plugs into which device; both ends are the same.

Before choosing it, look at the sockets on the two devices you want to connect. Each needs to accept a Mini DisplayPort plug. If one device has a different socket, this cable won’t provide that different connection. That’s the practical limit of a male-to-male lead, and it’s better to spot it before arranging the rest of your setup. The product name tells you what the plugs are; it doesn’t identify particular devices or say what formats they support, so use the socket type as your guide.

Think about the route the cable will take, too. A cable that reaches when laid straight across a desk may need more room if it has to go around the edge or behind a screen. The stated length gives you a clear starting point for planning that route. Keep the path simple and avoid pulling the cable tight between devices. For a setup that needs a direct Mini DisplayPort connection, this is a no-fuss option; its usefulness comes down to having the matching sockets and enough reach for your layout.
