B&W Outdoor.cases Type 5000 Black / Empty
B&W Outdoor.cases Type 5000 Black / Empty | Protection for transport and storage
Gear in a soft bag can be vulnerable when it gets knocked about, exposed to dust or caught in the rain. The B&W Outdoor.cases Type 5000 is a black hard case for carrying and storing equipment when you want a more protective outer shell. It’s sold empty, so you decide what goes inside and how to arrange it. That suits photographers and other equipment owners who already have a packing system, or who want to bring their own padding and dividers. Use it to keep gear together between shoots, or to put equipment away with a sturdier barrier around it than a soft bag provides. Its purpose is practical rather than elaborate: a hard case for situations where everyday handling and the elements are a concern. If you need a case that arrives ready-packed around a specific camera setup, this empty version isn’t that; it gives you the case, and leaves the packing choices to you.
Before loading it, decide which items belong together and how you’ll stop them shifting during transport. For storage, grouping the gear you use for a particular task can make it easier to find what you need later. The Type 5000 gives you a solid outer case for that routine, while the inside arrangement is yours to plan.
Specialist Note
The Type 5000 won’t organise your kit for you, so you’ll need to think through how each item is packed. That’s also the reason this empty version can make sense: you’re not tied to a pre-packed setup. I’d consider it for carrying equipment that needs a hard outer case, or for keeping a group of items together in storage. Arrange the contents so they’re secure before you set off, and use the case as the protective shell around your packing. It’s a straightforward option when knocks, dust or rain are part of the handling you want to guard against.
