Caruba Flits/Parapluhouder Standard Cold Shoe
Caruba Flits/Parapluhouder Standard Cold Shoe | A straightforward base for umbrella lighting
The defining detail of the Caruba Flits/Parapluhouder Standard Cold Shoe is its combination of a standard cold shoe and an umbrella holder, bringing two parts of a flash setup together. It suits photographers who want to use an umbrella with a flash for portraits, small product scenes or other controlled lighting, without making the setup more complicated than it needs to be. The cold shoe provides the flash connection, while the holder is made for an umbrella, so the product’s purpose is clear: helping you arrange this familiar lighting combination. It’s most useful when you’re building a simple off-camera lighting setup and want to shape the flash with an umbrella rather than use the flash on its own. This is a focused accessory, not a complete lighting solution; you’ll need a flash and umbrella to put it to work.
Specialist Note
The Caruba Flits/Parapluhouder Standard Cold Shoe is best at bringing a flash and an umbrella together for a simple lighting setup. The standard cold shoe gives you a familiar place for the flash, and the umbrella holder lets you position an umbrella alongside it. For a portrait, use the flash with the umbrella to spread the light over your subject; the same approach can help give a small product scene a broader, softer look. I’d suggest it to anyone putting together a straightforward flash-and-umbrella arrangement, rather than someone after a more elaborate lighting rig. You’ll still need both the flash and umbrella, but this holder keeps the job it’s designed for nicely focused.
