Cokin Traveller Kit W3HO 28
Cokin Traveller Kit W3HO 28 | Protection for photography on the move
A lens cap is useful between shots, but it has to come off while you’re photographing. The Cokin Traveller Kit W3HO 28 is a protection-filter product for that working part of the day: it belongs to Cokin’s protection-filter range and is named as a Traveller Kit. That makes it relevant if you want a Cokin protection option to take along for everyday photography and travel. A protection filter is intended to help shield the front of a lens during use, when a cap can’t stay in place. The product name identifies the kit, but it doesn’t tell us its contents or fitting size, so I wouldn’t assume either from “28”. If you’re comparing protection filters, focus on the exact product designation and whether it suits your lens; those details matter more than guessing from the name.
Using a protection filter
Protection is most useful when the camera is out and ready to shoot, rather than tucked away with its cap on. Keep the filter clean, since dust or smudges on the front glass can affect the image. For storage, the lens cap still has a job to do: use it when you’re not photographing. This kit is best considered as a protection option, not as a filter for changing colour, contrast or exposure.
Specialist Note
A protection filter keeps a layer in front of the lens while you’re shooting, so you don’t have to rely on the cap once the camera is ready. The Traveller Kit name makes this a natural product to consider for a camera you take out on days away, as well as for everyday use. Cokin is the brand to look for if you’re already choosing within its range, and W3HO 28 is the exact designation I’d use when asking us about this item. My practical advice is to keep the filter’s front surface clean and put the lens cap back on for storage. It’s a straightforward protection product, not a creative-effects filter.
