Desq Filter HMC Slim CPL 62mm
Desq Filter HMC Slim CPL 62mm | Reduce reflections and deepen skies
A bright sky reflected in a lake, or a shop window getting between you and the view: those are the moments a polarizing filter earns its place. The Desq Filter HMC Slim CPL 62mm is a circular polarizing filter for managing reflections and glare, and for bringing more contrast into skies. Turn the filter while looking through the camera to adjust the effect; the change is easiest to judge in the viewfinder or on the screen. It suits photographers who want more control over reflected light in landscapes, around water, or when photographing through glass. The 62mm size is the key fit detail: it needs to match the filter thread on the lens you plan to use. Its slim designation makes a lower-profile option for the front of that setup. The result depends on the angle of the light, so it’s a hands-on filter rather than an effect you can set once and forget.
Specialist Note
The slim rim gives this 62mm filter a restrained profile at the front of your lens, which is handy if you’d rather avoid adding a bulky-looking accessory. For reflections on water or glass, turn the CPL ring as you watch the scene; stop when the unwanted sheen has eased without losing the look of the surface. I’d also use it to deepen a blue sky: rotate slowly and judge the change in the viewfinder or on screen. It suits someone who enjoys making that adjustment at the camera, especially for landscapes and scenes behind glass. Just match the 62mm diameter to the lens thread you’ll use; the effect itself varies with the light’s angle.
