Falcon Eyes Honeycomb For Ø120cm FER-OB12HC

Falcon Eyes Honeycomb For Ø120cm FER-OB12HC | Keep light more directed

When light is spilling farther across a set than you want, a honeycomb can help keep it more controlled. The Falcon Eyes Honeycomb For Ø120cm FER-OB12HC is a grid accessory for the softbox named in its title. It’s suited to photographers who already use that softbox and want to shape where its light falls, rather than add another light to the setup. A grid narrows the spread of light, which can be useful for portraits, product work or still life when you want less illumination reaching nearby areas. The supplier lists this honeycomb in black. Its purpose is straightforward: give you more direction over the light from the specified softbox. The exact effect will depend on your setup, so it’s best thought of as a light-shaping aid, not a fixed lighting result.

What a honeycomb changes

A softbox gives you a broad source; adding a honeycomb helps limit how widely that light spreads. That can make it easier to keep illumination on a subject and reduce spill onto a background or surrounding parts of a scene. The trade-off is that a more directed spread gives you less broad coverage, so consider the look and area you need to light. This is a simple accessory for photographers who want to refine an existing setup with the Ø120cm FER-OB12HC softbox. There’s no need to overcomplicate it: the benefit is having a more controlled spread to work with, while the final lighting still depends on placement and the rest of your setup.
