Formatt Hitech Firecrest Ultra Patrick Fruschia S Edition 100mm Pro Essentials
Formatt Hitech Firecrest Ultra Patrick Fruschia S Edition 100mm Pro Essentials | Create motion blur in daylight
To turn moving water into a softer blur or show movement in a busy scene, an ND filter lets you use a longer exposure by reducing the light reaching the camera. The Formatt Hitech Firecrest Ultra Patrick Fruschia S Edition 100mm Pro Essentials is a 100mm ND filter for photographers who want that control while working with a 100mm filter format. It suits landscape photographers shaping the look of rivers, waterfalls and clouds, as well as anyone who wants to capture movement rather than freeze it. The effect comes from your exposure choices: lengthen the shutter time to make moving subjects blur, or use the filter to keep a chosen aperture in brighter conditions. This is a specific Firecrest Ultra edition, identified as Patrick Fruschia S Edition. The product name gives you its filter format and type; the result you make depends on the scene and the settings you choose.
Specialist Note
Bright conditions can make a long exposure difficult when you want movement to show, and that’s the job an ND filter is made to help with. This one is identified as a 100mm filter, so use that format label when choosing it for your filter setup. The Firecrest Ultra and Patrick Fruschia S Edition names identify this particular version; I wouldn’t read an unlisted density or exposure factor into them. For softened water, lengthen the exposure until the flow begins to blur; for clouds, use a longer exposure to record their movement across the frame. It suits photographers who want to shape motion in-camera. Keep in mind that the filter reduces light, so it’s not the tool for keeping shutter speeds fast.
