Freewell Osmo Pocket 4p Black Glow Mist 1/8 Filter - Black
Freewell Osmo Pocket 4p Black Glow Mist 1/8 Filter - Black | Gentle glow around bright highlights
The Freewell Black Glow Mist 1/8 is a small creative filter for Osmo Pocket 4p users who want a gentler rendering of bright points in their footage. Its Black Glow Mist effect is intended to soften the feel of highlights, while the 1/8 strength keeps the look restrained rather than overt. That makes it a good fit for creators who want a little atmosphere without making the filter effect the main event. Try it for evening scenes with lamps in frame, or for portraits near a bright window, where highlights can otherwise feel sharp. The black designation identifies this version of the filter; the title doesn’t give further detail about its construction, so I’d focus on the look it’s meant to create. It’s a creative finishing choice, not a substitute for careful framing and exposure. If you prefer crisp, untouched highlights, this effect may not suit every shot.
Specialist Note
First-time filter users often expect a dramatic change straight away; the 1/8 strength here is better approached as a quiet softening of bright highlights. I’d use it when a lamp or bright window sits in the frame and you want a more atmospheric look, while keeping the rest of the scene readable. It’s made for the Osmo Pocket 4p, so it’s aimed at owners of that camera rather than being a general-purpose filter. The Black Glow Mist name tells you the kind of rendering to expect, while the 1/8 rating points to a restrained effect. It won’t suit every scene: if you want highlights to stay very crisp, leave the filter off for that shot.
