Specialist Note
For a head-and-shoulders portrait, I’d start at f/1.2 and keep the focus point on the nearest eye; that wide aperture can soften the background while keeping attention on the face. The autofocus is helpful when your subject shifts slightly between expressions. On a Fuji X APS-C body, the 56mm framing is equivalent to about 84mm on full frame, which works nicely for individual portraits and close details without bringing the surroundings too far into the picture.
