GREEN.L IR720 72mm Infra-Red
GREEN.L IR720 72mm Infra-Red | Explore infrared-style photography
Give landscapes an unusual infrared interpretation, with foliage that can appear bright and skies that can read darker in a monochrome image. The GREEN.L IR720 72mm Infra-Red is a colour filter for photographers who want to explore that distinctive look rather than record a scene in ordinary visible-light tones. The effect you get depends on the camera’s response to infrared light and on how you process the image, so results can vary from one setup to another. It’s a good subject to experiment with in scenes that include both leafy plants and open sky, where the contrast in tones can shape the final picture. Infrared photography also calls for some patience: exposure can take longer than you might expect, so allow time to work through test frames. If you’re curious about interpreting familiar subjects in a different way, this filter gives you a direct place to start.
Specialist Note
The GREEN.L IR720 72mm Infra-Red is for creating an infrared interpretation of a scene. Its 72mm size means it’s intended for a lens with a matching filter thread, so check the diameter marked on your lens before setting out. The IR720 designation points to its infrared-filter role; the camera’s own sensitivity will influence how strongly that look comes through. I’d try it on a landscape with leafy trees against open sky, then compare a few test exposures and process the result in monochrome if you want the tonal contrast to lead. It suits photographers who enjoy experimenting, but don’t expect every camera to respond identically. Longer exposures may call for a tripod.
