Hama Audio-Adapter Cinch-Coupling - 6.3-mm-Jack Mono

Hama Audio-Adapter Cinch-Coupling - 6.3-mm-Jack Mono | Connect two audio connector types

The defining design choice is the pairing of a Cinch coupling with a mono jack: this adapter brings those two audio connector formats together. It suits someone whose existing audio connections use different types of connector and who needs a direct link between them. The Hama adapter has a specific job, rather than being a cable or a general-purpose audio accessory. That makes it useful when you’ve identified the connection you need and want to bridge it without changing the connector on your equipment. Its mono format matters: this is for a mono jack connection, not a stereo one. In practical terms, match the adapter to the connectors at both ends of your intended connection. It’s a simple item, but getting the connector type right is the whole point.

Check the connection type

Cinch is also commonly called RCA, so that name may help when you’re identifying the connection on your equipment. The other side is specified as a mono jack, which distinguishes it from a stereo jack connection. These names describe the connector formats; they don’t tell you which devices or audio systems are suitable, so base your choice on the connection you actually need to make. If the two ends of your setup call for these formats, this adapter provides the link between them. If you’re unsure, take a close look at the socket and plug types before choosing an adapter. That small check can save you from buying a connector that doesn’t match your setup. The finish is black, a plain colour that blends in easily with other dark audio accessories.
