Hama High-Speed HDMI-Cable 4K Connect - Connect Ether 5.0m

Hama High-Speed HDMI-Cable 4K Connect - Connect Ether 5.0m | A straightforward 5-metre HDMI connection

What sets this Hama cable apart is the combination named on the product: High-Speed HDMI, 4K and a 5.0-metre length. It’s for anyone who needs an HDMI cable with some reach, rather than a short lead that has to sit right beside the connected equipment. The product name also includes “Connect Ether”; I’d treat that as part of the model name, not as a promise about a particular network setup. In practical terms, this is a black HDMI cable identified for 4K use. That makes it a relevant option when you’re choosing a cable for an HDMI connection and want the extra distance of five metres. The length is the main thing to plan around: it gives you more room to position connected equipment, but you’ll want to consider the route before buying.

Planning the cable route

As a shop specialist, I’d start by measuring the actual path the cable needs to follow, not just the straight-line distance between two devices. Allow for the way it has to run around furniture or along a wall, and leave enough slack at each end for a natural connection. That’s especially helpful when the equipment isn’t arranged in a simple side-by-side setup. A longer cable can make placement easier, but it still needs a sensible route; don’t pull it tight or leave it where people can catch a foot on it. Those are ordinary setup considerations, not special features of this model. The honest point is that five metres gives you useful reach, while the right choice depends on the layout you’re connecting.
