Hama Network Cable CAT-6A 10 GBIT/s U/UTP 1.50 M

Hama Network Cable CAT-6A 10 GBIT/s U/UTP 1.50 M | A short wired network connection

When a network connection has to run between nearby devices, wireless can seem like the simplest option. This Hama network cable gives you a direct wired link instead. It’s suited to a short connection at a desk or beside network equipment, where you want a cable rather than a wireless connection. The CAT-6A rating and 10 Gbit/s figure make it a match for network setups built around that speed; the actual connection speed also depends on the devices and network in use. Its U/UTP designation identifies the cable type, while the 1.50 m length is the practical detail to pay attention to when planning the route. In white, it’s easy to spot against darker surfaces. One honest point: a short cable is neat when devices are close, but it won’t reach far if your layout changes.

Check the route before you choose

Measure the distance between the devices and allow for how the cable will run, rather than measuring only the gap between their ports. A route around the edge of a desk, for example, uses more length than a straight line. At 1.50 m, this cable is best considered for a nearby connection, not a long run through a room. That can help keep excess cable from gathering behind equipment, though you’ll want to leave enough slack to move a device for access. The white finish may suit a light-coloured workspace, or make the cable easier to see when you’re tracing a connection. If you’re tidying an existing setup, it’s worth mapping the route first; picking the right length is simpler than trying to hide a cable that comes up short.
