Hawke Sunshade Honeycomb Objective 24mm
Hawke Sunshade Honeycomb Objective 24mm | Helps control stray light
Bright light coming in from an angle can make it harder to see a clear view through an optic. The Hawke Sunshade Honeycomb Objective 24mm is an accessory designed for the front of an optic with a 24mm objective. Its honeycomb design gives the sunshade its distinctive open, grid-like face, while the name makes its purpose clear: helping manage unwanted light around the objective. It’s suited to someone who uses a 24mm objective and wants a simple way to address distracting light during viewing. This is a specific-size accessory, not a general-purpose shade for objectives of any diameter. If your optic has a 24mm objective, it’s the size to consider; the benefit is most relevant when your viewing position puts bright light near the front of the optic.
For bright, angled light
Think of situations where light reaches the objective from the side, such as viewing outdoors with the sun off to one side. A honeycomb sunshade is intended to help manage that stray light while keeping the objective’s view open. It’s a straightforward accessory, rather than a change to the optic’s controls or magnification.
Specialist Note
The honeycomb face gives this sunshade its distinctive open front, and it’s the detail to focus on: it’s intended to help limit stray light reaching the objective without covering the viewing area. The 24mm objective size makes it a specific match, so I’d consider it for an optic with that objective diameter, not as a universal shade. It suits outdoor viewing where bright light comes in from the side; keep that light source outside your direct viewing line and the sunshade can help reduce the distraction. For an optic with a different objective size, this isn’t the right size to choose.
