K&F Concept ND1000 Filter Nano X 10 Stop Grey Filter 82mm
K&F Concept ND1000 Filter Nano X 10 Stop Grey Filter 82mm | Create long exposures in daylight
Moving water can soften into a flowing blur, and clouds can stretch across the frame when you can use a slower shutter speed in daylight. The K&F Concept ND1000 is a grey filter that cuts the light reaching your camera by 10 stops, giving you room to make those longer exposures without waiting for dusk. It suits landscape photographers and anyone who wants to show movement over time rather than freeze it. For a practical example, a metered exposure of 1/125 second becomes roughly 8 seconds after a 10-stop reduction, a shutter speed that can visibly smooth a stream or shoreline. The filter is most useful when bright conditions would otherwise force you to use a faster shutter speed. It’s a focused tool for deliberate motion effects; it won’t freeze moving subjects.
Specialist Note
10 stops means you can turn a normal daylight exposure into a much longer one: at a starting exposure of 1/125 second, you’re looking at roughly 8 seconds. I’d consider that for softening a waterfall or letting clouds move through a landscape; meter first, then add the filter’s 10-stop reduction to your exposure. The 82mm size is the detail to match to your lens’s filter thread, so it’s suited to photographers already using that size. One honest trade-off: anything moving through the frame during those seconds will blur too, so this is for showing motion, not freezing it.
