Kase International Magnetic Back Cap 62mm
Kase International Magnetic Back Cap 62mm | Keep your filter covered between uses
Filters are easy to leave exposed when you’re changing setups or putting gear away. This back cap gives the rear of a filter a cover, helping keep it protected while it’s stored or carried. Its magnetic attachment is the defining detail: there’s no conventional cap mechanism to fasten by hand. It suits photographers who use 62mm filters and want a dedicated way to cover one when it’s off the camera. The job is simple, and that’s where it’s most useful: keeping a filter covered between uses, rather than leaving it loose in a bag. If you regularly take filters on and off, having a specific cap for the pause between setups can make your kit easier to manage.
Think of it as a small part of your filter routine: remove the filter, cover it, and put it away instead of setting it down uncovered. That’s especially handy when you’re moving between scenes or packing up for the day. It’s a focused accessory, not a substitute for a filter case when you need to store several filters together.
Specialist Note
Does the magnetic fitting make this easier to use than a standard back cap? Yes, that’s the main point: it attaches magnetically, so you can cover the filter without dealing with a conventional fastening action. The 62mm sizing is specific, so I’d choose it for a filter in that size rather than treating it as a universal cap. It suits photographers who often remove filters between shots and want to cover one before putting it away. For a single filter kept in rotation, that quick cover-and-store habit is where this accessory makes sense. If you carry several filters together, pair it with a case for keeping them organised.
