Kondor Blue KB-ML-BK MINI Lock Quick-Change Plates | Make tripod changes quicker

Without a quick-change plate, moving a camera on and off a tripod can mean repeating the same setup step each time. The Kondor Blue KB-ML-BK MINI Lock Quick-Change Plates are a tripod accessory for photographers and filmmakers who regularly take a camera off its support and put it back into use. Their purpose is straightforward: make that change quicker, with a lock included in the product name. The MINI designation is part of this model’s identity, while “Quick-Change Plates” describes the job it is intended to do. This makes it most relevant to a one-camera workflow where repeated mounting and removal interrupt the pace of a shoot. It’s a focused accessory, rather than a way to alter camera operation or image quality. If you want a simpler handoff between using a camera and setting it aside, this is the job these plates are named for.

Specialist Note

The honest limit is that these plates only address the tripod-change part of your setup; they won’t solve every rigging need. Still, that’s exactly why I’d point them out to someone who often removes one camera from a tripod and brings it back into use: the “Quick-Change” name is aimed at reducing that repeated setup step. “Lock” is the other useful cue in the name, so this isn’t presented simply as a loose plate. The MINI model suits someone looking specifically for this version of Kondor Blue’s plates. I’d consider it for a one-camera routine with frequent tripod handoffs, rather than buying it for features unrelated to that job.
