Leofoto Combo L Plate For Canon 5D MK III
Leofoto Combo L Plate For Canon 5D MK III | A dedicated plate for tripod work
Without an L plate, changing a tripod-mounted camera from landscape to portrait usually means tilting the head sideways and then finding your composition again. The Leofoto Combo L Plate for Canon 5D MK III is a tripod accessory made for that camera, providing an L-shaped mounting plate for this change in orientation. It suits Canon 5D MK III owners who work from a tripod and regularly switch between horizontal and vertical framing: perhaps for architectural details, portraits or a mix of still subjects where keeping the camera position consistent is helpful. Its appeal is practical rather than broad; it addresses the repeated interruption of reorienting a camera at the tripod head. If you mostly shoot handheld, this accessory won’t change much about your routine. For tripod-based framing with this specific camera, it gives you a purpose-made way to handle that adjustment.
Specialist Note
For a two-format tripod routine—landscape first, portrait second—I’d keep this plate with the Canon 5D MK III rather than make every change a head adjustment. The “L Plate” name is the useful clue: it’s intended to give the camera a mounting position for either orientation, so you can move from a wide scene to a vertical portrait without making a sideways tilt the centre of the process. Its Canon 5D MK III designation also makes the choice specific, rather than a general plate for any camera. I’d recommend it to owners who make that switch often on a tripod. If you rarely leave handheld shooting, it has little to add.
