Leofoto Combo L Plate For Canon 7D MK II
Leofoto Combo L Plate For Canon 7D MK II | Easier portrait framing on a tripod
Without an L plate, portrait framing on a tripod often means turning the head sideways, which can shift the camera away from the setup you’ve carefully composed. This Leofoto Combo L Plate is a tripod accessory for the Canon 7D Mark II, made to give you another way to position the camera for vertical as well as horizontal framing. It suits photographers who use this Canon body on a tripod and regularly switch between landscape and portrait compositions. That’s particularly handy for portraits, vertical architectural views or any scene where you want to keep the camera supported while changing orientation. The plate’s purpose is straightforward: make that change at the camera’s mounting position rather than relying on a sideways-tilted head. It’s a focused accessory, not something that changes how the camera takes pictures; its value is in making tripod framing more adaptable with the named camera body.
Specialist Note
“Can I frame vertically on a tripod without tipping the head over?” Yes—that’s the practical reason to use this L plate with a Canon 7D Mark II. I’d consider it if you move between horizontal landscapes and vertical portraits, or if you photograph tall buildings and want to compose in portrait orientation from the tripod. Mount the camera using the plate, then use its L-shaped profile to position the body vertically instead of canting the head sideways. The specific match to the 7D Mark II is useful if that’s the body you’re building your tripod setup around. Just keep in mind that this is a positioning accessory; it won’t alter the camera’s image-making capabilities.
