Marumi Circ Pola Filter Super DHG 58 mm
Marumi Circ Pola Filter Super DHG 58 mm | Tame reflections, reveal colour
Reducing distracting reflections from water or glass can make colours and details easier to see. A polarizing filter can also deepen a blue sky when the light is at a suitable angle. The Marumi Circ Pola Filter Super DHG 58 mm is a circular polarizing filter with a 58 mm diameter, for photographers who want more control over reflected light in outdoor scenes or when shooting through windows. Its strongest use is selective: turn the filter while looking through the camera and choose how much reflection or sky contrast to reduce. That makes it handy for landscapes, ponds and shopfronts, where glare can compete with the subject. The black finish keeps it visually understated on the front of a lens. It won’t remove every reflection, and its effect depends on the light and your viewing angle, so make small adjustments rather than expecting one fixed setting.
Specialist Note
Reflections hiding what’s beneath the surface are the nuisance this filter helps you manage. I’d use the 58 mm Marumi on a lens with a matching filter thread, then turn the filter while watching water or glass in the frame; that lets you choose how much reflection to reduce. For a landscape, adjust it with the sky in view and the sun off to the side of your shooting direction for a more noticeable change in sky tone. Its circular polarizing design is made for this kind of control, but the effect depends on the angle of the light. The black colour keeps the filter visually discreet; it can’t remove glare from every angle.
