Metabones Canon FD - Micro 4/3 Speed Booster Ultra (0.71X)

Metabones Canon FD - Micro 4/3 Speed Booster Ultra (0.71X) | Bridge Canon FD lenses to Micro 4/3

Without a converter, a Canon FD lens and a Micro 4/3 camera use different mounts. This Metabones Speed Booster is made to bridge that pairing, for photographers who already own Canon FD lenses and want to use them with a Micro 4/3 system. Its 0.71x designation is the key model detail: this is the specific version to look at when that number matters to your choice. It’s a focused piece of kit, rather than a general-purpose accessory, and its value depends on having lenses and a camera from the two systems named in the product. If that’s your setup, it gives you a direct route to adapting those lenses. One honest point: the title alone doesn’t make this a universal solution for every lens-and-camera combination, so the exact mount pairing is what to pay attention to.

Choosing the right version

When comparing converters, start with the names at either end: Canon FD and Micro 4/3. This model identifies both, then adds “Speed Booster Ultra” and the 0.71x figure to distinguish its version. Those details are worth keeping together when you search or ask us about the product; a similar-looking converter with different mount names isn’t the same pairing. For someone building a setup around Canon FD lenses and a Micro 4/3 camera, that makes the intended use easy to identify. I’d treat the 0.71x figure as a model identifier when narrowing down options, rather than assume that the name tells you every detail of how a particular lens and camera will work together. The appeal here is specific: adapting Canon FD to Micro 4/3 with this named 0.71x version.
