Nedis CAT5e SF/UTP-Network Cable RJ45M-RJ45M 3.0m Grey

Nedis CAT5e SF/UTP-Network Cable RJ45M-RJ45M 3.0m Grey | A direct wired connection

A cable run that’s too short or awkwardly routed can make a simple wired setup frustrating. This Nedis network cable connects two pieces of equipment with RJ45 sockets, using a male RJ45 connector at each end. Its 3.0-metre reach suits a short connection across a desk or between nearby points. It’s a practical way to link devices by cable when they’re positioned for a wired connection. The grey finish is easy to distinguish from darker leads, although it may be more noticeable against a pale surface. If you already know the route and the connection you need, this gives you a defined cable length without an oversized spare coil. Measure the path around furniture before choosing a cable; the route you’ll actually use can be longer than the distance between the two endpoints.

Plan the cable route

Think about where the cable will run as well as where it starts and ends. Corners, desk legs and the route around other furniture can all add distance. Leave a little room at each end so the lead can reach the sockets without being pulled taut. A quick measurement along the planned path is more reliable than estimating from across the room.

I’d use this for a nearby wired link with a clear route between the two points. If the path crosses a doorway or a place where people regularly walk, plan a safer route rather than leaving a lead where it can be caught underfoot. That small bit of planning makes for a tidier setup and helps avoid finding out, halfway through, that the cable needs to take a different path.
