PolarPro 135 Series - Gold Mist Filter - 49mm
PolarPro 135 Series - Gold Mist Filter - 49mm | Add a warm, misty look
When a portrait or tabletop scene feels cool and a little clinical, a Gold Mist filter can add a warmer, softer character as you shoot. The PolarPro 135 Series is a colour filter for photographers who want that look in-camera, rather than trying to build it later in editing. Its name points to the effect: a gold-toned mistiness that can lend a gentle, atmospheric feel to portraits and still-life images. It’s also worth considering for product photos where a less neutral mood suits the subject. This is a creative choice, not a filter for keeping colour strictly neutral, so it won’t suit every scene. The 49mm version is for setups that use that filter size. If the look you want is warmth and atmosphere, rather than a purely clean rendering, this filter gives you a direct way to explore it.
Specialist Note
The Gold Mist effect gives a portrait or still life a warm, softened mood right at capture, instead of asking you to imitate it with colour adjustments later. The 49mm size is the key practical detail: match it to a lens that takes 49mm filters, and you can use the filter on that setup. I’d consider it for a portrait with neutral daylight, or a pale tabletop scene where a warmer feel helps the subject. Keep the effect in mind when choosing the scene; this is a deliberate colour treatment, so it’s not the one I’d reach for when accurate, neutral colour is the priority. The 135 Series name identifies the filter family.
